Entry: ponderings... Friday, November 06, 2009

...so, here's what i am wondering:
why do we pass the peas (plural), the carrots (plural), and the potatoes (plural), at the dinner table, but if we pass the corn it is singular? even if i have fifteen ears of corn, it is still corn, if i have a giant bowl of buttered corn, it is still "pass the corn, please"...  but, but, but, i see people who have corns on their feet? why is that plural? it just doesn't make any sense to me is what i am saying.

(i am taking sudafed for my cold, if you were wondering)
