rivers up for consideration so far are: st marys' river, mad river, and the black fork of the mohican...
to be considered, a river must be rapid free, and have camping access.
feel free to add a river to the list.

so, i been doing some research for our up coming yak trip, looking into various ohio rivers that would make a nice trip with camping. just out of curiosity i was reading about the cuyahoga river, 'cause i grew up across the street from it.... guess what i came across? go ahead, guess.... ...many references to "grassman", ohio's version of bigfoot.... you can check it out here or this spot , or even this. anyway it seems there have been many sightings around the cuyahoga river of a bigfootlike creature for those of you too lazy to click on the links. it seems some of you kids would like to know just what is planned for the up coming vacation days.... let me tell you, we are in the serious planning stages, with much in the way of serious planning taking place. here are some of the things being planned, input and additional plans are very welcome: - cincinatti zoo- nuwanda wants to go
- traders world- i want to go
- fireworks, fireworks, fireworks!!!
- river trip with overnight camping, w/o babies
- more camping and yakking (babies included)
- BIG SUSHIFEST at mtv's yummy new sushi place
- indian food, possibly down oxford way
- more will be revealed... (but that is all i have so far)
please, please, please, let me know if you have any great ideas!

So, I was reviewing past posts on this blog and started playing the furry cheetah video I posted. Remember the one? She just wants to live in a home and drink wine. I clicked play and had a grand time giggling with Pete at the silly furry. At the end of the video I noticed that the chair she was sitting in looked surprisingly familiar. So, my this is just further proof that Steph is a furry and posting silly videos of her furry self on youtube.

so, DM went out on a charter boat saturday.... he got a nice mess of walleye. at the cleaning place they gave him the walleye cheeks... you can read about them here.let me tell you, they were very, very yummy. i finished painting the livingroom and DM repaired the aviary wall. the livingroom is done except the carpet needs shampooed, which i plan on doing today. we started watching the trailer park boys... at first i wasn't too sure about it.... i had purchased the whole series and was wondering what the hell i was thinking.... but i am really enjoying it. (we are on the second season and DM and i are wondering,,,, it always seems warm and summer time- isn't canada colder than a polar bear's bum?) (where's the tire chains and shit?) we- DM, nuwanda, babies, and i- took the yaks out for a quick paddle last week. DM and i are still recovering from the SARS/plauge.... not ready to do it big yet.

so, i was watching monster quest the other night about bigfoot. some guy came on and was saying that all the people who claim to have seen it were suffering from a mass delusion, there was no way that a large primate could exist undetected in north america...
i think it was 1972, could have been 1973, but i was young enough to still be riding cherokee, so, in '72 i was 12, and cherokee was still my main pony....
i was friends with a girl named kelly clark, she rode a pony named pepper. we rode from my parents house in munroe falls to the summit county fairgrounds just about every day. the house in munroe falls was right across the street from the cuyahoga river, and adjoined a large park, it was pretty rural at the time.
one trail we regularly took was through a large field next to a woods. there was a swampy place the ponies always hesitated to go through, but it was mostly just flat and grassy . for about a week we noticed large flattened out areas in the tall grass, kind of like deer beds, but larger, about the size of three regular deer beds. there were five or six of these beds. spooked the hell out of the ponies every time they walked past them... before that they never spooked at deer beds, or deer for that matter. they acted jumpy and excited around the beds, and snorted at them....
so, we were riding down the trail like a normal day, very sunny and bright, the woods were shady and darker, everything that happened next felt like a blur...
i am pretty sure we were trotting down the trail, i could take you to the exact spot it happened, the ponies slid to a stop, as we saw it, about seven or eight feet tall and dark brown and shaggy, standing in the woods right by the trail, i really just saw the outline, because the ponies wheeled around so fast and bolted for home. they just tore out of there, they didn't even slow down when they ran through the swamp.
kelly said it scared her to death, i don't recall being scared really, more like shocked.
when kelly and i got home, we told my mom about what happenened and she made some phone calls and wrote a letter to somewhere about our experience. the ponies refused to go on that trail for about a month, and were pretty spooky when we finally did get them on it. we never saw those beds or anything strange after that.
that's my mass delusion/bigfoot sighting story.

might need to re-name him," fool max breeze", or, "that colt of buffy's that we got rid of"... just saying. he has to tie, saddle, and lunge both directions outside of the round pen before we can ship him off to the trainer. (those were pics of him learning to tie.) (he has problems with authority i think) how it is supposed to be done. (thanks to nuwanda for the pics!)

The Adventures of MR Pete
No, I did not murder MR Pete. He voluntarily jumped in the bag, all I did was tie the top off. Assisted suicide is NOT murder!
